Well, I, a champion elementary school studier, once misspelled "hacksaw" in a spelling bee. I was so nervous I felt frozen in time and couldn't remember the last thing I had just said. I left out the "k". This is relevant only because Miss South Carolina was a crack member of the debate team and also won the National Geographic geography bee when she was only 12 years old, so it was obviously a case of stage fright.</p> <p>Ok, that's not true. (The part about me is true, but not the part about Miss South Carolina.)But she doesn't sound that much worse than Bush. And you have to admit, it is a tragedy that so many children are suffering without maps. In the US and in South Africa... and Iraq. ?</p> Poor baby girl.
