The Dark Knight: New Awesomeness or Old Rehash?

Filed under: General — Laura Moncur @ 5:00 am

The Dark Knight is my most anticipated movie of the summer… or at least it was until I saw this mashup of The Dark Knight (2008) and Batman (1989) trailers:

I think I’ll get the 1989 Batman movie and watch it the night before we go see Dark Knight for a good comparison. Can this new one really compete with THE Tim Burton? I KNOW Christian Bale kicks Michael Keaton’s hiney, but sometimes it’s all about the director. What do you think?

  1. This will probably be the greatest batman movie of all time. Ever.

  2. Love Michael Keaton (best role: Dogberry in Much Ado w/ ET and KB).

Love Christian Bale! Loved Batman Begins. Cannot wait to see Dark Knight, but it certainly sounds like a great idea to watch the 1989 movie the night before . . .

  3. If Batman is your most anticipated movie of the summer, you need to see IRONMAN first. I think the Batman franchise has been beat to death. It’s a rehash of revenge from the Bat that has more problems than the foes he faces! The darkhorse comic version of Batman just suck, its too Gothic, and too much like The Crow. Although Batman is not dead, he should be. Let’s go back to the Adam West version where ka-pow, ker-splat, Boof and kablam! meant something , instead of hot vehicles in a world that doesn’t exist . The original batman was a crime fighting guy in a suit that cared about the people , not a revenge filled Sociopath set out to look great in black leather.

Wait and see, but the joker character played Heath Ledger looks, sounds and is a nut case. Rest in peace Heath Ledger, you will be missed!
