Why I Can’t Move To San Francisco

Filed under: General — Laura Moncur @ 5:00 am

My friend moved to San Francisco about a month ago. He went to the Dore Alley Fair and posted the pictures he took while there.

This picture is the reason that I can’t move to San Francisco (Not Safe For Work):

I want to be able to go to the local fairs and street parties without worrying about seeing something that will burn itself into my memory.

Utah might be a little too conservative for me, but I now know that San Francisco is definitely too liberal for me.

  2. Yeah, it pretty nearly scarred me, too.

  3. I can’t imagine anything so innocuous & silly being terrifying to anyone. Try looking at crime scene photos from the Salt Lake City P.D. if you want a scare.

  4. Alex,

Wow! You’re right. Everyone at that fair were consenting adults. I can’t say that no one was being hurt, but they were wanting to be hurt, so I guess that’s different.

I think the thing that bothered me is that it looked so degrading. The man behind that mask had called himself a pig and willingly succumbed to being an animal. I recognize the animal instincts within myself, but as a child, I was called a fat pig too many times to consider that name a good thing.

Thanks for the wake-up call. Salt Lake just had a child kidnapping case that didn’t turn out as nicely as the Elizabeth Smart case. The little girl was found in the basement of the neighbor right behind her house. All of this within a mile of my home. All of this makes a man dressed up as a pig with a butt plug far less scary.
