Bubble Lights for Xmas

I found these bubble lights at Hobby Lobby the other day. My grandma used to have some on her Xmas tree, so they made me feel closer to her. For only twelve bucks, I was able to bring my grandma back to life, if only for a second. I’m continually amazed at the power physical objects have to connect me with my past.

  1. We used to have lights like those!

And I can relate to objects bringing up memories. I’ve been re-doing my Grandparent’s house, and I find myself saying, “I love you, Grandma.” as I went through her hope chest the other day. I love her choice of linens! :) I love that she had little sweater pins and black and white pictures of her high school friends. It made me want to hug her so much.

  2. I love this! I kinda did the same thing last year. I saw a “Frosty the Snowman” decoration that reminded me of a giant snowman head my grandma used to put in her window. She loved Christmas. When my husband saw how it affected me he bought me the Frosty as a surprise. I think of her everytime I see it.

  3. I have used bubble lights for years! my grandchildren and I love them. I do not use the blue and green ones because you cannot see them on the tree bubbling. could the company that produces them use less coloring , as they are too dark? thank you.
